Huronia Community Foundation: Giving for a Cause 2019It was a night to remember for Gateway Centre for Learning, the Midland charity which took home $10,000 from HCF’s recent Giving for a Cause event. “We are thrilled to receive this grant from Huronia Community Foundation,” said Executive Director Jennifer Ellis. “We cannot exist without the generosity of the people and organizations in our community, so this donation is a real recognition of the work we do each and every day to make North Simcoe stronger.” On October 2, members of the HCF community gathered at Restaurant Ste. Marie for HCFs Annual Giving for a Cause celebration. 100% of the proceeds raised from this event went to Gateway — 50% for the establishment of an endowed fund at the Community Foundation, and 50% to be used by the organization as they see fit. Gateway provides vital literacy, numeracy and other training opportunities for adults in the region. Thanks to those who contributed to Giving for a Cause, helping to ensure sustainable discretionary income for local charities. In particular, we are grateful to volunteer Wendy Mullin and the team at Collaborative Haus for all of their efforts to make this event a success. |
